Our final full day on tour together, day five was definitely a memorable one. We had a bit of a late start due to the Agwa from the previous night, but eventually we got together to take the gondola up Sulphur Mountain.
At the top of the mountain is a lookout with flags of various nations and the distance to specific cities from where we were. I found Toronto and took the opportunity for a cheesy photo-op. We had a pretty laid back day after that, lounging around and getting ready for a pre-Halloween night on the town.
We ended up getting a new roommate, Spencer from Barrie, Ontario (another Ontarionian! Yay!), who was apparently the only one with the foresight to bring a costume. We had a fun time assisting him with some final touches, then made our way to a local club to boogie away our last night together.
We stuck out like sore thumbs wearing our regular clothes while Fozzie Bear, the Swedish Chef, Where’s Waldo? and many other various characters danced around us, but we didn’t care. We were savouring the moment and celebrating the end of this leg of the tour. It was also an early birthday celebration for Verena, whose birthday was coming up in a few days. All-in-all it was an eye-opening, fun and glorious evening. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to enjoy my last night out with my new friends. As you may already know from a previous post, the next morning was very difficult for me when I had to send them off, so I appreciated the opportunity to make new memories that night.
